Monica is a California Licensed Professional Fiduciary and the founder of Presidio Private. She established the practice after seeing, repeatedly and up close, how quickly financial and estate matters can overwhelm even capable families when transition, illness or loss arrives without warning.

Monica brings more than twenty years of global professional services experience to her fiduciary work. She was a Partner at Ernst & Young in People Advisory Services and a Managing Director at Accenture, advising executives, high-net-worth families, and multinational clients on complex tax, cross-border financial structures, and executive mobility.

Born in California and raised in Australia, Monica holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from the University of Melbourne. A few years after graduation, she took a 3-month assignment to San Francisco with Arthur Andersen - a stay that became ten years - followed by successive long-term assignments in India, Singapore, and London. She built a professional life and a personal network and navigated a new financial infrastructure every time. In 2020, she returned to California, where five generations of her family have lived, and made Santa Barbara her home. But her experience of moving around the world and supporting families who have done the same, informs everything she does today.

Her practice operates across three areas.

  • She supports individuals and families in the local community who need independent, professional assistance with financial matters — from private trustee appointments and bill pay to probate and guardianship of the estate.

  • She provides independent fiduciary accounting for private trustees, executors, and agents under power of attorney who need defensible, professionally prepared records and reporting; and

  • She works with expatriates relocating to the United States who need to ensure they are personally protected — assessing gaps in jurisdictional coverage, coordinating with legal and tax advisors, and putting the right protections in place before they are needed.

Monica understands what it means to be capable, successful, and completely without a network you can trust right when you need it. That experience — professional and personal — is at the heart of every engagement she takes on.

Monica is a member of the Professional Fiduciary Association of California and a Certified National Guardian. She serves on the Finance and Audit Committees of Lotusland in Montecito. Outside the office, she enjoys travel, the arts, floral design, and long walks on the beach with her two energetic dogs.

Real Talk:
Why Presidio Private exists

Monica has lost people she loved while they were far from home — on assignment, in unfamiliar healthcare systems, complex cultures, unworkable time zones, with no local advocate, and family who could not get to them in time. She administered the estate of an immediate family member remotely across a locked-down border, managing probate from thousands of miles away. She has stepped in for friends facing terminal illness in California whose entire support network — family, attorneys, health directives, advocates — was on the other side of the world.

During her years advising multinationals on executive mobility, she also worked alongside risk and security teams during international emergencies — the kind that require locating people quickly, communicating with families under pressure, and having the right documentation in place to handle anything that goes wrong.

She learned early that gaps in personal records and the absence of a reliable local contact are not minor inconveniences. They are the difference between a manageable situation and a very difficult one.

Presidio Private exists because having someone in your corner when it matters, should never be a matter of luck.

"Having done this myself five times, and supported thousands of families relocating internationally, I understand the particular vulnerability of being in a new country with only a work permit, an employer assistance line, and the quiet hope that nothing will go wrong while your network isn't around".
